What brought you to DCF? What makes you stay?
I like the aspect of group fitness and being new to town I didn't know anyone. It was a great way to socialize and network. I love the sense of how involved DCF is both with each member of the box and with the community.
Who is your hero, and why?
Uuummmm that is a tough one. I would say my husband since he is strong enough to put up with me He is a tremendous person who always tries to remain up beat and positive and he's the best partner I could ask for.
Favorite kind of workout/movement? Least favorite?
I do like deadlifts.....and of course a good long cardio workout is always right up my ally. Least favorite at the moment would be barbell snatches....get me everytime.
Short and long term goals for yourself?
Mastering double unders, long term it would be nice to one day say I did a bar muscle up, ring muscle ups forget about it.
Your best advice for getting fit and living happy?
When your world seems like it's upside down, change your point of view to make it right side up again. There's silver linings in everything if you find them.
Just show up and move your body, somedays you'll feel like an ultra athlete and other days you'll just go through the motions but you'll never regret just showing up and doing the work.
You were nominated by your peers for Most Encouraging, how do you feel about that?
I love our DCF Family and I am fortunate to be apart of it. I love that I can encourage people, even if it's just for a brief part of the day hopefully that helps carry them through the rest of the day.
