My name is Scott Fry. I have been at DCF since it started (February 2016).
What brought you to DCF? What makes you stay?
I stay because I love the comradery of shared suffering during a hard work-out. It has also been a great place to introduce my family to fitness.
Who is your hero, and why?
I don't really have a hero. I have lots of people I admire greatly. Many of them are at Crossfit, including Bob and Nikki.
Favorite kind of workout/movement? Least favorite?
My favorite work-outs are medium weight chippers. I am the worst at pull-ups but I hate thrusters more than any other movement.
Short and long term goals for yourself?
My fitness goals are to just stay healthy. I usually push myself pretty hard so avoiding injuries as I get older is important.
Your best advice for getting fit and living happy?
For getting fit I would say find the things that motivate you and that make you feel like you have conquered something. The goal should scare you a little so when you crush it you feel more motivated. The best way to live happy is to find a way to make some other person's life better.
Anything else?
I was nominated for most welcoming. I'm not sure I really live up to that ideal but I'm glad that people feel welcomed by me. I often feel I am too competitive to really be welcoming.
