These two amazing ladies topped our #800gChallenge and did not miss a day. The goal was to eat 800g of fruits and vegetables every day for the month of March, AND keep up with maintaining regular CrossFit workouts. They crushed it! Learn more about each of their experiences below.
Athlete Spotlight: Eliel Perez
Our 2020 Athlete Most Likely to Never Give Up is Eliel Perez! Eliel always has a smile on his face when he comes in the door. He is one of our speediest athletes who you most often see wearing a weight vest in workouts. We enjoy consistently seeing him in the 6:30pm workouts with his smile and joy for lifting...and backwards jump rope skills.

Profession: Web & Graphic Designer
Favorite activity out of the gym? Eating, watching Bob's Burgers, and hanging out with friends.
Favorite workout? Anything involving running, deadlifts, and/or rope climbs.
Why did you join Destination CrossFit? To build up my upper body strength.
What has been your most rewarding accomplishment in the gym? Being able to clean 135 pounds 2 months after I wasn't able to during the CrossFit Open.
What are you working on now? Bar Muscle Ups.
What is your favorite CrossFit memory? An outside workout, or something like the corn maze.
What motivates you to continue training at Destination CrossFit? The supportive community made up of everyone who is a part of DCF as a member or a coach.
What advice would you give to someone just starting their fitness journey? Go at your own pace. As long as you are doing something to be active, that’s so much better than doing nothing.

The 2020 Athlete Award for Most Welcoming is Travis Newton! His smile and engaging nature makes so many athletes feel at ease and like they belong.

Why did you join Destination CrossFit?: To better my health wellbeing spirit of mind.
What has been your most rewarding accomplishment in the gym?: I’m going to say the award and 355 deadlift! I will keep working on that.
What are you working on now?: I want my pull-up and would love to do double unders.
What is your favorite CrossFit memory?: The duathlon at 18 degrees for opt outside. We got lost and ran too far it was a lot of fun.
What motivates you to continue training at Destination CrossFit?: The other athletes and the coaches.
What advice would you give to someone just starting their fitness journey?: Stay consistent. Keep moving. Just start.
